Gillian Barber, longtime CapU Theatre Faculty, was recognized at this year’s Ovation! Awards with the Longtime Contributor Award. This award is presented annually to recognize individuals whose 30+ years of dedication have had a lasting impact on the musical theatre community in the Lower Mainland.

In “Learning to Fight For Yourself: Glitter Esquivias’s Journey with Indigenous Identity in the Theatre,” (a guest essay,) ASAS student Glitter Esquivias discusses her experience working on Dracula and re-imagining the character of Van Helsing as an Indigenous woman.

Yorkville University approves a pathway from Acting for Stage & Screen, Musical Theatre and Technical Theatre to their Bachelor of Creative Arts Degree.

CapU Theatre is excited to announce that starting Fall 2024, we will be offering two new courses: THTR 130 Acting, Foundations to Performance, and THTR 131 Improvisation, Foundations to Performance. These courses will be open to all CapU students.
