Acting for Stage & Screen
Once you have completed the initial application to the university, you will be contacted by our admin staff with information about the audition process for Acting for Stage and Screen.
You will be asked to submit a transcript of your grades, a headshot and a resume.
Your resume can include acting experience and any other experience in performance, the arts, sports and athletics, volunteer work, paid work, courses, education, clubs, awards, etc.
Acting experience is welcome but not required.
The headshot doesn’t need to be professional. Any photo that shows your face clearly will work.
All applicants who submit their transcript, headshot and resume will be invited to audition.

You will receive the Audition Information Package.
It will include detailed instructions of what to prepare for In-Person or Distance Auditions.
For both, you will be asked to prepare two contrasting monologues from a selection we will provide. This includes contemporary and heightened language monologues (such as Shakespeare).
Step 2
Step 3
The Audition
You will perform monologues for a panel of CapU Theatre faculty. You will also be asked a few questions as part of an interview.
For In-Person Auditions, you will be asked to take part in group activities led by a panelist. These may include warm ups and improvisation games.
For Distance Auditions, you may be asked to submit a creative component, such as a movement piece to a short poem, by self-tape. You may asked to do a Zoom callback and interview. Details will be sent to you at the time.
We want to get to know you, both as an actor and also how you will fit into our program.
We look forward to meeting you!
